Leather care
If your leather equipment should get wet, under no
circumstances dry in front of fire or close to direct heat,
hang up and allow to dry. Slowly
wipe it down with a damp cloth or saddle soap
to clean and apply proprietary leather food (a vegetable oil is ideal)
with a brush until it will take no more, I sometimes put in a plastic
bag with oil, seal bag and leave overnight.
